Summary

ASTM D7267 Edge Ravel Resistance is a laboratory procedure used to determine the force required to withdraw a loop pile yarn from the cut edge of a finished loop pile carpet specimen. The test evaluates edge yarn stability and resistance to edge raveling under controlled laboratory conditions. Results are commonly used for quality-control evaluations, product development, comparative product analysis, manufacturing verification, and investigations involving edge yarn loss or raveling. Laboratory findings should be interpreted together with carpet construction, field observations, installation practices, service conditions, and other laboratory test results.
