Floor Detective® Laboratory Testing Reference
Summary
The ANSI/HPVA EF 2020 Bond Line / Three-Cycle Soak Test is a laboratory procedure used to evaluate adhesive bond durability within engineered wood flooring constructions exposed to repeated moisture-related stress. The procedure evaluates the ability of internal bond lines to resist delamination following repeated wetting and drying cycles intended to accelerate moisture-related bond stress. Testing is commonly associated with evaluation of engineered wood ply separation, adhesive durability, bond-line integrity, and delamination-related complaints. The procedure evaluates laboratory bond performance under controlled conditions and does not independently determine field moisture exposure history, installation quality, environmental control, or actual in-service performance. See also Delamination, Hardwood Floor Problems, and Flooring Laboratory Testing and Analysis for broader context.
