ASTM F2199 – Dimensional Stability and Curling Properties of Resilient Flooring

Summary
ASTM F2199 is a laboratory test used to evaluate the dimensional stability and curling properties of resilient flooring following controlled heat exposure and reconditioning. The test is commonly performed on luxury vinyl plank (LVP), luxury vinyl tile (LVT), sheet vinyl, resilient tile, rubber flooring, and other resilient flooring products when shrinkage, gapping, curling, edge lift, or heat-related movement is suspected. Controlled heat exposure may reveal dimensional changes that are not readily apparent under normal conditions. Test results provide comparative information regarding a product’s ability to maintain its original dimensions and should always be interpreted together with product specifications, installation history, environmental conditions, field observations, and additional laboratory findings.
