Summary

Missing cap sheet in laminate flooring means the protective top wear layer was not properly applied during manufacturing. This top layer is a melamine-based surface designed to resist abrasion, stains, and normal foot traffic during service life. If it is absent or not fully bonded, the decorative layer underneath can wear faster than expected under ordinary use.
