GMW 3205 Odor Evaluations

This test method shall be used to determine the odor propagation when subjected to elevated
temperature and high humidity. The test specimen is placed in a sealed container with distilled water
available for high humidity. The container is placed in an air circulating oven at 70ºC for 24 hours. The
container is allowed to cool to room temperature and the lid removed. The odor is evaluated and
rated by a panel of judges. The average rating of the sample is assessed according to the ten-step
scale listed in the GMW 3205

Ratings are performed by technical and non-technical evaluators using a 10 step scale from no odor to an intolerable odor.
