Summary

Presence of Benzoyl Peroxide testing is used to identify residues associated with acne medications and other oxidizing products that may cause permanent color loss or discoloration in carpet and textile fibers. Benzoyl peroxide is a powerful oxidizing agent capable of removing dye color from many textile products. Laboratory testing may assist in evaluating claims involving unexplained bleaching, lightened areas, yellowing, or discoloration patterns consistent with consumer-product contact. Laboratory findings should be interpreted together with field observations, exposure history, and service conditions.
