Decorative Pattern Repeat / Visual Repetition (Laminate)
Pattern Repeat / Visual Repetition (Laminate Flooring)
Floor Detective® Claims and Conditions Guide
Summary
Pattern repeat, also referred to as visual repetition, is an appearance-related laminate flooring condition in which identical plank visuals recur within a perceivable area of the installation. Laminate flooring utilizes high-resolution printed decorative films containing a finite number of plank images within the design cycle. As identical visuals recur throughout the floor, repeated knots, grain lines, cracks, or distinctive character marks may become visually recognizable, particularly in large open areas or under directional lighting. Visibility is commonly influenced by room size, plank blending practices, installation sequencing, sightlines, and lighting orientation. Pattern repetition is inherent to printed decorative systems and does not independently establish manufacturing defect or product nonconformance. Evaluation considers repeat frequency, layout, room geometry, and viewing conditions together. See also Color Lot Variation, Gloss Variation, and Laminate Problems for broader context.
