AATCC 138 Shampooing Test (Carpet)
AATCC 138 Shampooing Test Laboratory Evaluation and Interpretation
Summary
AATCC 138 Shampooing Test is a laboratory procedure used to evaluate how carpet and textile floor coverings respond to controlled shampooing and wet-cleaning exposure. The test may be used to assess cleanability, colorfastness behavior, dimensional stability, and the durability of antimicrobial treatments, stain-resistant finishes, and other topical applications. AATCC 138 Shampooing Test is commonly used to evaluate the effects of cleaning on carpet specimens under controlled laboratory conditions and to compare product performance before and after cleaning exposure. Results provide comparative information regarding cleaning performance but do not independently establish manufacturing defect, cleaning error, warranty responsibility, or actual field performance.
