Tile Surface Cleaning and Residue Conditions (Overview)
Tile Surface Cleaning and Residue Conditions (Overview)
Floor Detective® Claims and Conditions Guide
Summary
Tile surface cleaning and residue conditions involve films, deposits, or contaminants that remain visible on the tile surface after installation or during service life. These conditions may originate from grout residue, cleaning products, sealers, construction dust, moisture-related mineral deposits, polymer migration, or maintenance-related film buildup. Although these conditions often appear visually similar, they differ in mechanism, removability, surface interaction, and claim significance. Accurate evaluation focuses on identifying the specific condition present, understanding how the residue developed, and distinguishing removable surface films from embedded deposits or moisture-related mineral accumulation.
