Summary

Color crocking, also referred to as dye transfer, is an appearance-related condition in which colorant transfers from carpet fibers onto other materials through rubbing or contact. The condition occurs when dye is not fully fixed (chemically bonded within the fiber structure) or when loosely attached colorant remains near the fiber surface.
