Recurring Spots and Stains (Carpet)
Floor Detective® Claims and Conditions Guide
Summary
Recurring spots and stains are appearance conditions in which a previously cleaned area becomes visibly discolored again in the same location. The condition commonly develops when moisture movement, retained contamination, or residual cleaning agents migrate back to the carpet surface during drying or continued use. Observable effects may include repeated darkening, staining, or discoloration in the same area following prior cleaning attempts. Recurring spots and stains originate within the carpet system or underlying contamination source rather than as a surface-only condition and are associated with use, maintenance, or moisture behavior rather than manufacturing performance. See also Soiling, Browning, and Carpet Problems for broader context.
