Summary

Sheet shrinkage and seam opening in resilient sheet flooring occur when adjacent sheet edges pull away from one another after installation, creating a visible gap along the seam line. This condition reflects dimensional change within the sheet material and/or installation-related tension release rather than a surface wear condition. Seam openings may appear as a continuous or intermittent gap and may be accompanied by weld rod edge separation where a heat weld is present.
