Summary
Delamination in resilient plank flooring refers to separation between bonded layers within the plank structure. Modern resilient planks are multi-layer constructions consisting of a wear layer, decorative film, core structure, and in some products an attached backing or cushion. These layers are bonded together during manufacturing to function as a single composite material. When the bond between layers weakens or fails, the layers may separate, producing distortion, bubbling, soft spots, or loss of structural rigidity.
