• Wood distortion refers to deviation of hardwood flooring components from an intended flat or linear profile
• Distortion may occur prior to installation, during installation, or after the floor is placed into service
• Variations in shape reflect the natural behavior of wood as a hygroscopic and anisotropic material
• The presence of distortion does not, by itself, indicate a manufacturing defect or performance failure
