Summary
Dye bleeding, also referred to as color migration, is an appearance-related condition in which dye transfers from one colored area of carpet into an adjacent color field during moisture exposure and drying. The condition occurs when the dye-to-fiber bond becomes destabilized under wet or elevated pH conditions, allowing temporary dye mobility within the fiber.
