Summary

Bowing is an appearance-related dimensional condition in which the carpet breadth exhibits a curved distortion across its width, causing the center portion to advance or lag relative to the edges. The condition results from unequal tension or differential dimensional movement during manufacturing processes such as dyeing or finishing. Bowing primarily affects pattern alignment and is often evaluated alongside related dimensional conditions when assessing alignment characteristics. The condition does not impact structural integrity or durability and does not independently establish a manufacturing defect without comparison to manufacturer tolerances.
