Summary
Bowing is a carpet appearance condition in which the center portion of a carpet breadth deviates forward or backward relative to the edges across the width of the material. Bowing occurs when the center of the carpet lags behind or advances ahead of the edges during manufacturing or handling processes. Unequal linear tension during dyeing, finishing, sew-on, or continuous processing may influence this condition. If bowing is introduced during dyeing, it will remain present through finishing.
