Summary

Doming in resilient plank flooring is a condition in which the center of a plank becomes elevated relative to its edges, producing a convex surface profile across the plank. The condition reflects dimensional response within the plank structure (how the material changes shape when exposed to temperature, moisture, or stress). Because resilient planks are multi-layer constructions, differences in expansion or contraction between layers may create internal stress that causes the plank center to rise while the edges remain lower.
