About Me

When Your Floor Fails, You Need Answers You Can Trust

I’m Chad Bookie, a second-generation flooring professional, Master Certified Inspector, and expert witness with decades of hands-on experience in flooring installation, quality assurance, and forensic failure analysis.

From single-room residential claims to multi-million-dollar commercial projects, I have inspected thousands of flooring installations and delivered clear, unbiased reports designed to withstand scrutiny on the jobsite, in the boardroom, and in the courtroom.

Based in Hudsonville, Michigan, I provide independent flooring inspections throughout Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio, with requests to travel nationwide for specialized claims and expert witness matters.

A Forensic Approach That Finds the Real Cause

Every inspection is performed using a methodical, evidence-based process to determine the true source of flooring failure, whether related to:

  • Installation practices
  • Product performance
  • Site conditions
  • Substrate preparation
  • Moisture and environmental conditions
  • Maintenance procedures

The result is a technically sound, defensible report that helps clients move forward with confidence.

Great Lakes Flooring Inspections (GLFI)

Through Great Lakes Flooring Inspections, LLC, I provide independent residential and commercial flooring inspections for homeowners, retailers, manufacturers, builders, property managers, attorneys, and insurance professionals.

My role is simple: deliver clear, accurate answers backed by real-world experience, technical training, and industry credibility.

Why Clients Choose Chad Bookie

Real-World Experience Beyond Certification

I’m not just certified,  I grew up in the flooring industry working alongside my father in our family flooring store. I later worked for one of West Michigan’s largest flooring retailers where I:

  • Managed manufacturer claims
  • Investigated complex flooring failures
  • Led quality assurance evaluations
  • Worked directly with installers, manufacturers, and consumers

This background allows me to evaluate claims from every perspective — installer, dealer, manufacturer, builder, and end user.
