Summary

Moisture vapor emission and slab moisture movement describe the natural migration of moisture within and through concrete substrates. Concrete slabs contain inherent moisture from original placement and may also be influenced by subgrade conditions and environmental exposure. Moisture movement may occur in liquid or vapor form and can influence flooring system performance when conditions exceed the tolerance of installed materials or adhesives. These conditions reflect substrate behavior and environmental interaction rather than a defect in the flooring material itself.
