About Me

Evan Lauridsen is a certified independent third-party inspector and consultant who is highly trained, highly qualified, well known and very respected within the flooring industry.  He is second-generation in the business with over 50 years’ experience in installation, installation management, store management as well as working for some of the top flooring and floor sundries manufacturers in the world as a flooring field technical services/support manager.  Evan has served as a mentor and trainer for other floor inspectors at floor inspection schools, especially those seeking certification at NOFMA, NWFA, FCITS, IICRC, and IFCII.  He has been a guest speaker at a number of events including the industry’s Synergy convention, The Floor Guild, FCICA, Floor Detective webinars and others.  He has also served on a number of flooring industry boards and committees including the revision of the NWFA Problems, Causes and Cures Technical publication, ANSI/IICRC S230 and ASTM F06 Committees.

Evan is highly skilled and qualified to inspect bamboo floors, carpet, ceramic tile, hardwood floors, laminate floors, and resilient floors as well as SPC rigid core panels installed on shower walls in bathrooms.  Evan takes his inspection work very seriously and conducts exhaustive inspections in order to uncover often times hidden conditions others may have missed, which is why Evan is often commissioned for those second and even third inspections by builders, manufacturers, and retailers alike.  His reports are equally exhaustive and written in an understandable format, providing details as to his reasoning and basis for his determinations*, something not seen in some of the other inspection reports.  His technical knowledge of floor manufacturing is unmatched giving him the edge up over many inspectors especially without a manufacturing background.   He is also available for large job startups, in-warehouse installer training, mill complaint reduction projects and is certified in subfloor moisture testing by the ICRC.

Evan offers a free initial phone consultation to discuss your specific flooring concerns and determine if an inspection is even necessary.  He can be reached at 972-689-5190 (voice/text) or email: lcgcit@yahoo.com

A complete curriculum vitae is available upon request.

Work Experience & Past Projects

Evan Lauridsen is a second-generation flooring expert with over 50 years' experience in the flooring industry.  He is an accomplished professional installer and flooring dealer having maintained a state issued C-15 contractors license in the state of California until he sold his business in 1996 and moved to Texas after accepting a position with a flooring sundries manufacturer as a technical consultant.  He has also worked in the flooring technical services and support departments of some of the largest flooring manufacturers in the world, both working as a technical services/warranty claims manager overseeing a department covering big box stores and also has worked in the field as a technical services manager, consultant and trainer.  Evan is world renowned having traveled to Europe and Canada providing inspection and education and is the past Dean of Instruction with the NWFA Certified Professionals Inspector Program.  Evan was influential in the creation of certification programs for hard surface inspectors for the IICRC, NOFMA, NWFA some 25 plus years ago and has been an instructor in the past at each of the inspection schools.  He is known for both his candor and humor while instructing providing much in the way of content and knowledge, unavailable elsewhere.  Today Evan is semi-retired still working as an independent third-party inspector and consultant and continues to provide training to both installers and inspectors.  His late wife Dawn and Evan have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren.
